

For
over a decade, Andrika Lawren has been an active force within
Toronto’s design community.
She
began her classical training ay George Brown Theatre School and
completed her education with a diploma in Interior Design from the
International Academy of Design (IAOD) in Toronto.
Within
the film community, Lawren has Produced and Production DesignedMAGNUS
OPUS,
a groundbreaking feature film that investigates the nature of art.
Directed by Andrew Martin and Gordon Currie, the film was an official
selection at the 2006 Canadian Filmmakers Festival. She also Art
Directed the feature film Redeemed
Believers Banquet Hall,
produced by Seventh in Order Media Productions and the music videos‘Out
of Time’
for Trish
Bentley,‘Cold
Outside’
for Raoul
and the Big Time’s –
both produced by Twist of Faith Productions.
Her
most recognizable work is as a Host and Designer for HGTV network,
completing 4 seasons of the stellar series ‘My
Parents House’.
She Hosted and Designed ‘Guess
What You’re Moving Out’,
commissioned for HGTV US and prior to joining the cast ‘My
Parents’ House’
in 2004, Lawren was best known as the on-camera designer for Much
Music’s design show ‘Much
In Your Space’.
She was also featured as a guest designer on HGTV’s hit series
‘Home
to Go’
with Peter Fallico and worked on the high-profile ‘Naked
in the House’
series for Fashion Television.
As
a top Toronto stylist, Lawren has worked with several high-profile
corporate clients including Chrysler,
Visa, Canadian Tire, Bonne Belle, Home Depot, Scotia Bank
and Hudson’s
Bay Company.
In addition,Andrika has
contributed her design expertise to Canadian
Living Magazine, Cottage Life, Home and Décor Magazine, She
Magazine, Style at
Home, 2 Magazine andNiche
and as well many national newspapers and radio programs.
Lawren
also has an impressive acting resume. She had a long-running lead
role at Toronto’s Second
City,
as well as professional stage credits in the productions of ‘Lands
Down’
and ‘Touching’.Her
work also includes playing the co-lead in a short film ‘The
Constant Now’.
Based
on her success, Lawren launched DRIKA
INC.
in 2006, a company devoted to creative services. Her cultural
instinct and originality is seen in all her work and her involvement
within the Canadian Design and Production Industry cultivates a
dynamic product, furthering and challenging our understanding of Art.
